Explore the value of helping families become more involved and engaged in child care programs and learn specific techniques for accomplishing this. Practice a variety of techniques for strengthening communication with the families of the children you care for.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Explain the importance of family engagement in early childhood programs
• Review strategies for creating a welcoming child care environment, techniques for communicating with families, and specific methods for supporting family engagement.

Participant Support Accommodations

Anytime Learning courses are self-paced and include instructor-recorded audio for each PowerPoint slide. Participants can take as much time as they need to reflect, process, and take notes. Reflection opportunities will be provided throughout the course.
The module will include videos, interactive quizzes (matching, true or false, sequencing), supplemental readings and a web-based lecture to support different learning styles. A script will be provided so participants can read what is said in the voiceover of the presentation.
