Explore conversations around using food and other sensitive materials in sensory tables, using resources such as water and seeds respectfully, using natural and long-lasting materials in classrooms instead of plastic or single use items, and how to choose materials that provide open-ended opportunities for exploration and growth for children from a variety of cultures. Gain an understanding of culturally and environmentally responsible purchasing for curriculum materials by classifying and comparing different curriculum materials.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training, learners will be able to:
• Identify materials that are precious resources and how to conserve them
• Build a plan to create spaces that feel inclusive and equitable

Participant Support Accommodations

Participants must have a Develop ID. Attendance will be documented on participants’ Develop Learning Record after completion of the course. Participants must navigate Anytime Learning via the Eager-to-Learn platform.
Minimum requirements: internet, computer/ipad, or other technology source to view online training.
Anytime Learning is self-paced and has the instructor recorded audio for each PowerPoint slide. Participants can take as much time as they need to reflect, process, and take notes. Reflection opportunities will be provided throughout the course.
The module will include videos, interactive quizzes (matching, true or false, open-ended questions, sequencing), supplemental readings and a web-based lecture to support different learning styles.
A script will be provided so participants can read what is said in the voiceover of the presentation.
