Explore the basics of the professional portfolio and the CDA self-study. Review family questionnaires and prepare competency statement IV. Understand family perspectives, how to respond to ethical dilemmas and prepare to write their professional philosophy statement.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Recognize the importance of family perspectives and involvement as well as effective communication in early childhood programs.
• Recall knowledge of appropriate observations and ethical practices as well as the characteristics of an early childhood educator.

Participant Support Accommodations

Self-paced Eager-to-Learn courses are self-paced and have instructor-recorded audio for each PowerPoint slide. Participants can take as much time as they need to reflect, process, and take notes. Reflection opportunities will be provided throughout the course.

The module will include videos, interactive quizzes (matching, true or false, sequencing), supplemental readings, and a web-based lecture to support different learning styles. A script will be provided so participants can read what is said in the presentation’s voiceover, and closed captioning is available.
