Learning Objectives
Describe the impact of trauma and symptoms associated with trauma, understand the experiences of children and families impacted by trauma, and learn strategies for creating an emotionally safe and supportive environment. Recognize the various types of trauma and ways in which trauma impacts development and identify the categories of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and impacts on children and their families.
Participant Support Accommodations
Self-Paced Eager-to-Learn courses are self-paced and have instructor-recorded audio for each PowerPoint slide. Participants can take as much time as they need to reflect, process, and take notes. Reflection opportunities will be provided throughout the course. The module will include videos, interactive quizzes (matching, true or false, sequencing), supplemental readings, and a web-based lecture to support different learning styles. A script will be provided so participants can read what is said in the presentation’s voiceover and closed captioning is available.
