I am from Northwest Minnesota which is a very rural area with great job opportunities for working families and a shortage of quality childcare. In 1990 received an Associates Degree in Legal Assistance. After working as a legal assistant I became interested in child care after serving as a parent representative for the ECFE Advisory Board and as a Policy Council Member for the Head Start program. I operated a licensed Group Home Child Care from 1994-1997 and 2003-2011 and 2014-2016. In 2007 I was named Child Care Provider of the Year by Provider's Choice Food Program. In 2008 enrolled in the Early Childhood cohort earning a BA in Early Childhood Education in 2011. I was Director of a licensed childcare center for 2 years. Recently, accepted a position with First Children's Finance as a Business Development Specialist. Part of my reason for attaining my degree was so I could assist other teachers and providers in the early childhood field.
